Empathy & Kindness are in short supply, let’s change that!!

About us

We have been rescuing and caring for animals since 2017. Inspired by the “Wildlings” from Game of Thrones, we named our sanctuary after them because we empathize with these wild outcasts. Initially, we relied on our own funds to sustain our efforts. However, as the burden became overwhelming, we made the decision in 2022 to obtain our 501(c)3 status, which allows us to seek assistance and offer tax deductions for contributions made. Additionally, we are proud to be licensed by the ODA, the governing body, overseeing animal rescue and sanctuaries in our state.

By contributing to our cause, you help provide essential resources such as food , hay, housing and vet care that ensure our residents live long and happy lives. We wholeheartedly invite you to join us in our mission to protect and defend the Wildlings of Wildings Forest Sanctuary. Together, we can make a kinder future for animals. 💚

who we are:
Ally Remington - Executive Board of Directors

Ally, a native of Wisconsin, has always had a deep love for animals. Growing up, she often visited local farms, bringing vegetables in her lunch box to share with the animals. She would gently cradle piglets, immersing herself in the world of these gentle creatures.

In 2011, Ally's passion for animal welfare took a significant turn when she rescued two stray hound dogs. This experience ignited a calling within her to not only care for animals in need but also to provide a sanctuary for those without a safe place to turn. Her rescue efforts gradually evolved into a sanctuary, offering solace and safety to abandoned or neglected animals.

Daniel Castillo - Board of directors

Daniel, the driving force behind the sanctuary, tapped into his immense strength and determination. Hailing from California and raised in New Mexico, he defied expectations to create a haven for animals in 2015. With unwavering commitment, he swiftly constructed the sanctuary, showcasing his versatile skills in crafting, fencing, and designing unique feeding systems. Moreover, he earned the moniker of "the goat whisperer," effortlessly connecting with these gentle creatures.

Kate Fulton - Board of directors - Vice President

Kate is an animal lover from Wisconsin who grew up caring for cows and horses. After witnessing the suffering of farm animals, she became a dedicated protector and couldn't support harming them. Eventually, she moved to Portland, where she started animal rescue in 2020 during the wildfires, leading her to get involved with the sanctuary. Kate has served as an emergency responder and interim sanctuary coordinator when needed. Despite her busy schedule running Peaceful Pasture, she always makes herself available and plays an essential role at the sanctuary.

Greggory VanFleet - Board of directors

Greggory and his partner began as volunteers at the sanctuary, bringing extensive knowledge from their work in animal care. Since 2022, he has served as both a consultant and a dedicated volunteer.
